Requirements: 
Applicants must be experienced software developers (at least 5+ years' experience) who can assist in the development of system requirements, technical design and then coding and configuration of a small staff facing. 
The duties the resource will be required to perform include:

• Work with business and ICT stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements.
• Provide technical advice and design options to ensure the best use of existing technologies to support enterprise Resource Management.
• Evaluate existing technical implementations to understand existing functionality. 
• Develop and document detailed technical designs in the form of user specifications and technical specifications.
• Develop and code a new staff facing system on the agreed platform based off the previous technical advice (software development)

Further background for the software developer role:
An existing Resource and Demand Management (RDM) tool has been developed on a Microsoft stack (SQL database, SharePoint and Project Professional UI all running on Windows server). With the future upgrade to the 2016 versions of the Microsoft stack, there is the opportunity to enhance the current RDM tool based off future business requirements. While the current RDM tool is developed off a Microsoft stack, the future tool's UI may be developed off another development platform depending on the requirements.A skilled and experiences software developer is required to assist in eliciting and validating the business and system requirements. 
Ideally the software developer will be experienced (5+ years) with the preferred development platforms within DHS for example Angular 2+, J2EE, .Net, integration via web services, Microsoft Project (Server) experience and system analysis. 
Applicants must have: 

• Demonstrated high level experience as either a software developer or a Microsoft expert in large and complex, enterprise environments (preferably with Federal Government organisations).
• Previous experience developing and implementing new applications within a large organisation
• Demonstrated ability to write technical specifications and design documents. 
•  Previous experience engaging various business and ICT stakeholders through various channels such as workshops and meetings. 
• Previous experience in user interface (UI) design. 
• Previous experience in system integration using standards based APIs.
