SaaS System Engineer 

We are looking for a system engineer to take ownership of several applications used in the development environment of a market leading Australian Software Company delivering quality cloud solutions. Their cloud platform is developed in-house and has several agile teams working on both R&D as well as customer specific deployments. 

The key requirement is to plan, deploy & maintain implementations of NGINX, HAProxy, Glassfish, Microsoft IIS, Kubernetes, & XenServer, which are used for the development and delivery of SaaS applications, so strong scripting skills in PowerShell and Bash/Python are essential.  Any exposure to automation tools like Chef or Puppet would be an advantage, as would containerisation.

You will need to be good at documenting issues in Jira and Confluence. Problem solving will be your forte as you work hands on to investigate and resolve any issues.

Responsibilities

• Plan, Deploy & Maintain Linux & Microsoft based platforms including NGINX, HAProxy, Glassfish, Microsoft IIS, Kubernetes, & XenServer
• Ensure platforms continue to meet the security, capacity, performance & reliability requirements of the organisation
• Key participant in migration to container based delivery
• Leverage IT Automation tools to maintain platforms to technical and security standards 
• Continually improve the reliability and performance of the platforms including identifying opportunities for monitoring or process improvement
• Resolve escalated support issues as the SME for the relevant platforms, including providing rostered on-call support for emergencies.
