As a Network Engineer in Layer2 APAC, you will work with an important customer to maintain the integrity of their network infrastructure. You will be responsible for delivering and pro-actively managing and maintaining the network infrastructure and its different applications. You will perform troubleshooting across LAN/WAN as well as provide training to other members of the team and/or customers. You must have advanced technical knowledge in the most different technologies and strong communication, management, processes, training and software-related skills.
You're required to have an extensive technical background in networking technologies preferably Cisco, Linux based firewalls, Microsoft and Linux operational systems, Microsoft and Oracle Databases, IT governance framework and great communication skills to deal with a multicultural environment and write training material and documentation. You will engage customers to understand necessities, business aspects to find and deliver solutions.
Required:
You must have at least 10 years of experience in a Computer Network Administration and Management role and have relevant tertiary education in Computer Network Management. You must have experience and advanced knowledge of the following:
√ Troubleshooting and solve layer 2 to layer 7 issues, LAN and WAN problems
√ CCNA Routing & Switching both practising and training
√ IPv6 strong knowledge
√ Linux administration knowledge with scripting skills
√ Microsoft OS Systems Administration skills
√ Database: Microsoft and Oracle Database SQL and Administration skills.
√ ITIL or equivalent IT governance framework
√ Strong written and verbal communication to handle a multicultural environment and dealing directly with customers
√ Excellent problem-solving skills and diagnosis
√ Experience in providing training to internal and external stakeholders, as well as writing training material
√ Experience in interacting and supporting software team with Configuration Management skills
Qualification:
√ Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Network Technologies or a related field, higher qualification is desirable
√ Cisco certification
