The Digital team is seeking an experienced Digital Delivery Manager who highly capable and motivated individuals to lead, implement and facilitate change in a high-pace, high energy environment. The role requires a highly capable technology professional and effective communicator who can bring extensive expertise in delivering leading-edge digital experiences.

You’ll be working with a fun, energetic and innovative team of people who really care about making a difference for people and the NSW community. You will have a mind for getting things done and a heart for people and you will set the bar high through the quality of the work you do and the people-oriented decisions you make.

Reporting to the Head of Digital, the Digital Delivery Manager will be responsible for planning and managing all aspects of the delivery of our medium to large-sized Digital projects (either waterfall or Agile) working with a number of multidisciplinary high skilled teams delivering a range of products / services.

You should exhibit the principles and practices of Lean-Agile leadership and play a key role in providing technology leadership, ensure alignment with Enterprise Architects vision, drive cost efficient / effective ways of working in enhancing / building digital platforms and support product owners to balance and refine the backlog to ensure that delivery of technical and architectural enablers are appropriately prioritised.

You’ll be adept at delivering complex digital projects, breaking down barriers for your team and getting into the detail to make things happen when needed.

Recent knowledge and examples of managing Digital delivery in the following areas is critical:

  • .NET stack / .NET MVC. / SQL Server applications
  • Microservices apps and architecture, API frameworks
  • Service Fabric & Messaging
  • SPAs (REACT and/or AngularJS)
  • no-SQL DB engines

General skills:

  • experience of managing people within large software development teams
  • knowledge and experience of using Agile methodologies (SAFe ideally)
  • knowledge and experience of developing technology solutions, both in house developed bespoke applications and commercially available off the shelf solutions
  • strong communication skills, experience managing relationships with board level stakeholders
  • excellent understanding of the business context of Digital Platforms
  • ability to produce and communicate effective and insightful thought leadership on technical and business topics
  • leading, coaching and mentoring teams and looking for continuous improvement opportunities
  • experience Coordinating agile methodology ceremonies such sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives
  • working with the Product Managers and Product Owners to create product roadmaps
  • experience coordinating activities across teams and the delivery lifecycle including Business & Systems Analysis, Creative, Content. Architecture, Development, Test, Business Change, and Project Management
  • experience assisting with resourcing needs of the agile delivery team for the appropriate mix of experience and capability.

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • 2+ years’ experience in managing Digital technical delivery
  • 5+ years prior experience as a lead developer
  • highly effective, pro-active, stakeholder, customer and vendor collaboration skills
  • inspiring, collaborative and agile approach
  • innovative and continuous improvement mind-set challenges the status quo and seeks self-improvement
  • agile and/or Safe certification is favourable
  • collaborative team player who enjoys working with people from a variety of backgrounds.
