The Current Opportunity

We have embarked on an exciting new software development project to expand our networking products including the Research and Development of new market leading security technologies.

As a Software Developer you will be responsible for the design, implementation, integration and testing of software components for our network security products and backend support infrastructure.

In this role you will have the opportunity to influence product architecture and design decisions and to build and enhance our continuous build, test, integration and delivery tool chain.

As a Software Developer, you will

• Participate and have input into architectural design and implementation planning sessions

• Design and implement software components and systems

• Participate in code reviews and action test plans

• Create and maintain informative software, system and process documentation

• Assist in the creation of detailed product manuals and online help content

• Design, implement and maintain a continuous delivery tool chain

• Actively participate in daily planning/stand-up activities

• Actively participate in continuous process measurement, review and improvement

• Provide assistance to the customer support organisation in the investigation and resolution of problem reports

• Any other duties as directed

About you

The successful applicant will possess

• A minimum of 5 years commercial software development experience

• Advanced skills in networking and network programming, specifically on the Linux  platform

• Detailed understanding of IP networking, and internet standards (HTTP, DNS, SMTP etc)

• Experience with the Python programming language and standard library

• University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field

• Previously operated within or familiar with agile development methodologies

• Willingness to learn and develop new technical capabilities

• Experience working with low level Linux networking tools

• Experience with low-level Windows kernel programming is highly desirable

• Linux system administration experience is highly desirable

• Excellent verbal and written communication skill

• National police clearance
