A rare and challenging Technical Leadership role has become available in a reputable electronic trading business that is committed to advancing its' position within the FX and Fixed Income space.
A key part of that strategy is the development of latency-sensitive algorithmic trading capabilities, sophisticated market-making systems, quantitative risk management and other necessary tools to support these operations.
Working closely with Quants and Traders, you will lead our developers in providing leading edge solutions for systematic FX Fixed Income and Futures algorithmic trading.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a small team of elite developers combining technical expertise of low latency trading applications and experience of FX/Rates/Futures markets.
This is an opportunity for a seasoned Java Developer or hands on Technical Lead to be involved in cutting edge projects related to Algo execution and the development of electronic trading platforms.
To be considered you must have at least 5 years commercial experience in Java software engineering within the financial markets space, preferably in Algo trading or market making trading application development.
Previous experience with eFX or eFI Trading systems is highly desired.
To be successful you must demonstrate:
- Strong core Java development skills
- Solid understanding of Low Level development
- Experience working with high frequency market data
- Advanced knowledge of Linux
- Any exposure to KDB/Q a significant advantage
- Low latency / high frequency real time applications in multi threaded environment
- Well versed in Data Structures and complexity theory
- Highly motivated, and suitably equipped to work directly with traders/quants
- MS or PhD degree in a relevant field a distinct advantage
- Proven experience in Algo-trading / market making development
- Proven ability to deliver front office trading systems
Candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to Sydney as this role does not involve remote working.
The successful candidate will work closely with the business users that are located on the Sydney trading floor.
This role could be offered either on a contract or perm basis.
