Your role
As part of Saab’s Security & Risk team, the Information Security Analyst will work closely with Saab’s ICT group to provide specialist security advice and expertise to help protect Saab’s assets from Cyber Threats. The Information Security Analyst will also be actively involved in internal and external project activities for the Security & Risk Group within Saab and will provide support and expertise enabling the success of such projects.

Key responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Monitoring, triaging and investigating cyber security threats/incidents;
  • Providing Information security risk advice, including risk remediation plans;
  • Configuring business rules on the SIEM and peripheral security systems, including AV, HIDS/HIPS, NIDS, DLP, Whitelisting and log management tools;
  • Monitoring, tuning and assessing of the SIEM;
  • Facilitating the ICT security/risk training curriculum;
  • Serving as the project manager/lead within ICT security projects;
  • Assisting with audits, ICT risk assessments and regulatory compliance; and
  • Providing periodic reporting on Saab’s current threat landscape;
  • Advising on ICT security situations that are of a critical nature and that impact Saab’s business;
  • Reporting on security breaches, the extent of any damage caused and propose remedial/mitigating actions;
  • Assisting in producing proposals and responding to tenders for the Security & Risk Group to win external Cyber related project work.
  • Where required, conducting Cyber related tasks for external projects contributing to the successful project outcomes required by the customer;


Your skills and experience
Essential:

  • Experience performing ICT security risk assessments of ICT service offerings;
  • Experience in threat analysis, threat risk assessment and vulnerability management, including: Malware analysis, Sandboxing techniques, Scanning technologies
  • Experience in a Security Risk Consultant or Analyst role;
  • Experience with IPS/IDS and SIEM technologies;
  • Broad knowledge of engineering and support tools, applications and technologies;
  • Experience in one or more scripting languages;
  • Knowledge of technical infrastructure, networks, databases and systems in relation to ICT Security and ICT Risk;

Desirable:

  • A working knowledge of the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and ISO/IEC 27001/27002 and 31000 standards.
  • Experience with administration and support of commercial software products including Splunk and the Microsoft Stack of Technologies such as: Windows 7/10, Sharepoint, SQL, etc.
  • Vulnerability management and penetration testing methodologies across network, web and wireless; and
  • Experience with virtualisation and cloud technologies.
