About the role
The role of IT Retail Systems Consultant is to work with:
- Store staff
- Independent Hardware Group IT staff
- Merchandising
- Store Development team
- external technology providers (primarily store retail system suppliers)
to exploit the use of IT Systems in Independent Hardware Group stores for improved sales & profitability
What you will do
- Consult with stores to identify process & system improvement opportunities
- Work with providers of in-store systems to define, test and implement enhanced systems
- Advise stores in their selection & deployment of technology when requested
- Support day-to-day interactions between stores & Independent Hardware Group host systems
- Store-facing Independent Hardware Group technologies including HTH Extranet and Mitre 10 MitreCom
What you will bring
- Demonstrated track record of achieving results in a medium to large scale wholesale or retail environment
- Strong team player
- Solid knowledge of back office and point of sale systems and other technologies used in stores
- Experience in managing store operations is highly desirable
- Consulting and Project management skills
- SDLC – awareness of the milestone and deliverables
- Strong documentation and communication capabilities
- Knowledge of any of the following systems – DART, SYMPAC, Pacsoft, Sterland (Prostix / Frameworks), Striven would be an advantage
- IT Experience in development and testing – preferred but not mandatory
