A large government department requires the assistance of two Senior Project Managers on contract through until July 2019. As the Senior Project manager you will be experienced in IT solution delivery in order to ensure appropriate resource capability in the delivery of major IT Projects.
 

• Baseline security clearance required; or the ability to gain one
• 12 month contract plus extension options

 
The Role:

• mentoring and training current Project Managers;
• understanding the issues that are inherent in IT projects;
• developing project products to assist with the effective monitoring and control of IT projects;
• delivering IT projects using PRINCE2 or Agile approaches to project delivery;
• maintaining a project schedule with dependencies for the work deliverables;
  • the department uses Project Server and HP's Agile Manager software - experience using this (or similar) software is highly desirable.
• maintaining risk/issue/lessons learnt log for projects being managed;
• managing multiple projects/work packages concurrently;
• undertaking checkpoint/highlight/other reports as required;
• undertaking effective stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills; and
• Identifying, escalating, and mitigating project issues as required.

 
 
The Successful candidate will have:

1. Demonstrated at least five years' experience on delivering large or complex IT projects (20%);
2. Demonstrated proven experience in dealing with complex IT environments (20%);
3. Demonstrated experience in planning projects (20%);
4. Demonstrated PRINCE2 and Agile capability, with respective certification (20%);
5. Demonstrated strong stakeholder and relationship management (10%); and
6. Demonstrated strong leadership and influencing skills to ensure your team delivery, governance board and customer needs are in alignment (10%).
