Alimak Group is a world leading industrial group within vertical access solutions with market presence in over 50 countries.Our Australian head office is based in Dandenong South, where we require an IT Support Engineer to join our team and provide IT support to our teams across Australia.
About the role
The IT Support Officer is responsible for providing support to the entire Alimak Group Australia business. Reporting to the Chief Financial Manager Australia, the IT Support Technician will support people and systems locally and remotely.

This exciting position offers varied day to day responsibilities such as:
- Monitor and Support backup and disaster recovery systems, ensure robustness
- Ensure network complies with corporate standards and policies
- Support LAN/WAN infrastructure to meet the current and proposed demands of the network as required by Group IS Manager
- Continuously review and implement processes for the enhanced provision and reliability of networks
- Perform support role as defined in the Business Continuity Plan as required by Group IS Manager
- Manage mobile devices for end users (iOS and Android)
- Liaise with support staff in global offices to ensure consistency in IT standards
- Attend to day to day service desk 1st and 2nd level support remotely and in person primarily at the two main sites in Dandenong South and Southbank
- Escalate as calls as required
- Resolve priority one calls within acceptable tolerances
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role you will ideally meet the following criteria:
- Certificate III or higher in Information Technology or a related area
- Highly articulate and customer focused
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised
- Grounded in a broad range of technologies
- Desktop and server operating systems
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
- Experience in providing 1 and 2 level IT support
- Basic experience with Switching and Routing technologies
- Working knowledge of Windows server technologies
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft desktop applications
- Basic experience with backup and recovery operations
