The engineer here is responsible working with the solution architect to perform technical discovery, requirements gathering, and environment preparation activities such as application packaging and migrating users.
 
The Cirtrix Engineer will, under the guidance of the WaaS Project Manager, lead the project from a technical perspective and serve as a subject matter expert for best practice in desktop and application virtualisation, contribute to the migration planning, process and tool selection and support migration projects in on-boarding customers to the new environment to ensure the success of the program.
 
 
Skills & Responsibilities -
 
The individual may be required to perform job related tasks othe than those outlined as below -

• Provide leadership and direction to staff and effectively manage operational issues to ensure continuous effective service delivery and a performance based, innovative, responsive and accountable customer focused work culture.
• Provide leadership for technical activities including implementing Virtual desktop and application technologies and transition into state wide service desk.
• Collaborate closely with the Project Manager in the all phases to accurately identify and manage technical desktop and application virtualisation issues, risks and provide advice into project planning, technical design and implementation.
• Perform technical requirements including design, build, test (User acceptance testing and system testing) and deployment activities.
• Design and produce accurate documentation of current state of large and complexsystems including technical discovery, requirements, application packaging and user migration documents and processes.

 
Selection Criteria - Must Haves

• Extensive experience and a record of achievement in ICT infrastructure projects in a large and complex ICT environment
• Expert knowledge and demonstrated experience in inter-organisational Citrix technologies, networking, Windows desktop (profile management, configuration and optimisation), Windows Terminal Services and application packaging
• Demonstrated extensive Citrix environments experience and strong, technical working knowledge of application lifecycle, solutions and deployment methodologies.
• Superior interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills with extensive experience engaging and influencing key stakeholders and customers to influence and achieve optimal business outcomes.
• Superior organisational skills and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment with a capacity to prioritise, multi-task etc
