As a Business Analyst within a supportive and enthusiastic software engineering team, you will be responsible for identifying and gathering business requirements and assist in developing strong client relationships as the liaison between the team and the client. You will oversee all aspects of the planning, monitoring and controlling of projects on time, within budget and on specification.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing a quantifiable and qualified understanding of market and customer requirements.
  • Use the understanding of the market to formulate a prioritized list of product requirements and the associated justification.
  • Engage in pre and post sale customer discussions to educate customers on solution capabilities, resolve issues and share future product direction.
  • Work closely with software development teams to provide consistent and concise product development, backlog, and priority direction.
  • Communicate features, benefits & the value proposition for the solution offering to internal and external audiences.
  • Act as advocate for retailers and suppliers and their needs as they look to transform their business to meet the omnichannel needs.
  • Drive projects to completion: analyze & remediate any delays or risk
  • Communicate project and issues resolution status regularly with internal teams and customers by setting up and maintaining project and issue status reports.
  • Coordinate successful deployment for all projects and  provide relevant release documentation and training material.
  • Participate in UAT to ensure full and proper completion of project.
  • Ensure full compliance with the SDLC
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with  operations and application support teams within SPS Commerce organization.
  • Respond to and resolve customer issues according to SPS standards in a timely, complete, and professional manner.
  • Work with application support group to identify and implement solutions to time-sensitive and high visibility issues

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Fluency with Agile development
  • Bachelor's or equivalent degree in business or technology
  • 24 months + relevant experience in business analysis with a strong focus on requirements gathering
  • Knowledge of databases and SQL
  • Proven understanding of modern requirements analysis, specification, verification and the ability to apply them in practice
  • Experience with an object oriented programming language
  • Experience with JIRA a plus
