Our client develops market-leading biometrics face recognition technologies and software applications for enterprise and government customers around the world. Our products are deployed in people identity verification and video surveillance situations globally: across on-premise, cloud and mobile environments.
The Technical Consultant provides advice, training and technical support to systems integrators; value added resellers (VARs) and end-customers for solution guidance, solution architecture, integration, installation, configuration, and ongoing usage of products. In addition, they support pre-sales pipeline building, including customer onsite Proof of Concepts (PoC’s).
The ideal candidate will have completed their university level studies within the last 10 years. They will possess considerable hands-on experience with various solution architectures, computer infrastructures and networking, in differing end-user environments, over a period of at least 2 years. Direct face-to-face customer interaction experience is required along with customer-facing exposure to pre-sales/sales participation.
Australian citizenship is required along with the ability to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance. Applicants who are not Australian citizens will not be given consideration for this opportunity.
Key areas of responsibility
• Able to analyze customer requirements and propose well-designed and cost-effective technical solutions, taking into account both software application and infrastructure considerations
• Conduct site visits and Proof of Concepts for those customers wishing to evaluate Cognitec products in the context of their own use cases
• Technical support expertise in a timely manner, seeing cases through to resolution
• Test, evaluate and report on existing/new products and product releases
• Conduct technical training for internal and external customers
• Provide internal support for demonstrations and tradeshows
Desired skills and experience
• Direct face-to-face customer interaction experience is required
• Pre-sales/sales participation exposure required
• Substantial experience with software installation and configuration, computer hardware,networking and OS administration (eg Windows 10, Windows Server, Linux) required
• Experience setting up PoC’s and production solutions, and troubleshooting, in lab and endcustomer environments
• Experience with remote support and interactions with colleagues and customers in different locations such as via webex, teamviewer, skype, conference calls
• Exercised interpersonal and relationship management skills
• Strong technical writing and presentation/platform skills
• Experience/knowledge of biometrics a plus
• Working knowledge of database management systems (eg MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle) a plus
• Working knowledge of web services and Java a plus
• Familiarity with optical science, video and still camera equipment, and image processing a plus
• Demonstrated project management, knowledge transfer, and organizational skills a plus
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related equivalent experience
Travel
• Travel to customer sites and/or Trade Shows throughout the region bordered by India, Korea and New Zealand is required as well as occasional travel to head office in Germany.
• Expect that up to ~30% time is spent travelling outside Sydney, typical contiguous periods a day to 2 weeks
