Our client is an emerging cloud infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), and platform as a service provider (PaaS). They are building a team in Brisbane to perform the software development and automation aspects of the business.

They require some additional personnel as they set up their offering, and are well funded to source technology professionals - with an attractive remuneration package that will include large bonuses and share options.

With that in mind, they seek a skilled Lead Backend  Software Engineer to lead the development team that is building and deploying the software code to be used. Aspects of the role includes:

• Design, develop and maintain API and worker microservices for internal and client facing automation and orchestration platforms.
• Develop thoroughly tested code and conduct quality assurance on all new code
• Influence development practices and product direction.
• Help drive the evolution of automation and orchestration platforms.
• Enhance and progress already existing services.
• Advise and mentor backend developers.

You must have several years experience in a similar role, and have advanced Ruby coding skills.

It is expected you will also have led software teams, have experience with containerisation, specifically Docker, and other contemporary open source technologies. They also require experience with building API's and tools like Grape, bare-bones Rack, Sinatra.

This is a young and progressive environment, they want someone who thinks culture is important, and comes on the journey with them as they shake the cloud tree.

They will pay well, ranges will depend on what you are currently getting, but they can pay to $120k or $140k or so, plus bonuses plus provide some share options.
