We are seeking to fill the following roles.
Senior Project Manager & Project Coordinator/Junior PM (12 months with a 12 month extension)
The Department of Education and Training is seeking an experienced Project Manager and a support resource to manage the development and implementation of the VET Student Loans IT system. The project activities will be undertaken in collaboration with the Department of Human Services.
The support resource would be suitable for either a project coordinator or a junior project manager.
Essential skills and experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with successfully managing and implementing large IT business solutions for major government programs.
- Proven ability to deliver complex IT project management frameworks on time and to budget.
- Demonstrated experience using both PRINCE2 and SAFE project management methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience with managing and reporting project deliverables using a risk management approach.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills including internal / external and across government agencies.
- Demonstrated time management skills, working to tight timeframes to deliver high quality outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing a framework to extend and mature project management capabilities and practices.
- Demonstrated experience managing multi disciplinary teams.
- Responses should also include the skills and capabilities of the support resource and how they will assist the Project Manager.
Nice-to-have skills and experience
- Knowledge of the DTA's Digital Service Standard.
- Knowledge or experience of the Australian education sector and its stakeholders.
- Understanding of program and architecture issues.
