Our client is a large multinational with a growing presence in Australia. They have a need for a hands on infrastructure support professional to join the team on a short term contract to provide cover whilst the permanent staff member is on leave.
The role:
After a 2-3 day handover ensure smooth operation of the End User Computing environment, focusing on IT Infrastructure support including:
- Acting as a key liaison to co-ordinate and bridge between the outsource provider, Business Users, including Clients, Key Customers and software vendors, where necessary on IT Infrastructure matters
- Provide End User Support:
- 1st and 2nd Level End User Support
- Installations of Desktops and Notebooks, including all relevant clients and applications, including configuration and environment settings.
- Installs hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, memory and disk drives for users
- Loads specified software packages such as operating systems, word processing, spreadsheet, office productivity or other programs into designated computers.
- IT Infrastructure Support:
- Resolving incidents and problems to ensure service level agreements, targets and standards are maintained and adhered to.
- Network administration including adding users to all systems
- Recommends or performs minor remedial actions to correct problems
- Repair and maintenance of all IT equipment
- Provision of IP Phone extensions including adding new users to Avaya IP Phone system
- Prior experience in a Desktop administrator or Desktop support role
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Desktop and Active Directory Technologies
- Business knowledge and experience with the ability to translate this into a technical environment
- Proven ability to meet deadlines on critical tasks
- Solid desktop management skills (desktop hardware & operating system, office productivity software, desktop management & policies)
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Good communications skills
- Certified in Microsoft Windows
