We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Analyst to join our team in a full time, permanent capacity. This position will be based in the heart of the Sydney CBD.

 

About the role

Reporting to the Program Delivery Manager, the Data Analyst will be responsible for developing our data analytics strategy, working with various stakeholders in identifying and responding to business needs, driving the capture of relevant enterprise data in a consistent and accurate manner to facilitate reporting, monitoring and analysis.  Specifically you will be involved in:

  • Data mapping, understanding and insight.
  • Build and maintain an organisational data map to inform business decision making and compliance activity.
  • Assist with building an organisational understanding or the role of data as it relates to Standards Australia’s core activities
  • Data capture and reporting.
  • Partner with a range of stakeholders to identify and drive the capture of relevant enterprise data in a consistent, compliant and accurate manner from internal and external sources to facilitate reporting, monitoring and analysis.
  • Own the provision of regular organisation reports, including clear analysis of emerging trends with a focus on cause / effect relationships and recommendations.
  • Analysis and monitoring.
  • Attend monthly review and other sessions and present reports / reviews to management for detailed discussion.
  • Own the delivery of detailed analysis to identify root causes to problems and model potential solutions using statistically valid methods.

 

About you

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • At least 2 years in an analytical role.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (Business, Statistics or IT preferred).
  • Excellent technical and programming skills
  • Good understanding of data repository systems (business intelligence infrastructures).
  • Strong knowledge of statistical concepts, models and applications.
  • Good business acumen, with experience of working with senior management to analyse and improve the business.
  • Improvement mindset, with proven ability to affect change.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to influence and collaborate.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, whilst delivering quality outcomes to deadline.
  • Ability to be innovative, creative and think ‘outside the box’.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong presentation skills.
  • Advanced capabilities with appropriate MS software (e.g. PowerPoint; Visio; Excel).
  • Ability to translate complex subject matter to wide ranging audiences.
