THE COMPANY:
This company is a well-known and prestigious Financial Services / Trading organization who employ approximately 700+ staff across Australia.
THE ROLE:
Linux System Administrator / Server Admin position where you’ll be working in a team and responsible for the maintenance, installation, configuration, and security of business-critical Enterprise Compute, Storage and Backup systems.
You’ll be involved in an AWS expansion and heavily involved in improving automation.
Duties include:
- Troubleshoot, install, configure, build, maintain and secure Linux Red Hat infrastructure
- Automate server builds and related services.
- Develop and deploy Linux SOE’s across the physical, virtual and cloud (AWS) environments.
- Support Backup & DNS
- Work with application owners to install and upgrade software projects
- Patching and documentation
- Contribute to infrastructure architecture
- Project delivery
- Participate in on-call roster as required
A SUITABLE CANDIDATE?
This role is suitable for a Linux Systems Administrator / Engineer with broad IT infrastructure experience on enterprise level technology, including Linux server admin, storage, backups, virtualization and cloud.
The following is required:
- Extensive Red Hat Linux experience - troubleshooting, builds, customization, performance tuning, & hardening etc
- Automation experience with tools such as Red Hat Satellite, Puppet, Ansible etc…
- Python scripting experience
- Storage experience including FC/IP based storage protocols
- Networking understanding including TCP/UDP protocols, routing/switching/firewalls etc
- Docker, Kubernetes (or similar) experience is beneficial
- AWS cloud exposure is beneficial
- Relevant certifications (e.g. RHCE, RHCA etc.)
This is a full time permanent role located North of the Sydney CBD and is offering $120,000 - $140,000 including super - depending on experience
