ABOUT THE ROLE
 
This role is a senior technical specialist/Integration Developer who will work as part of the development team on a key data integration Project. The role will be to provide expertise in developing integration components to support the sharing of data between the Department's Systems and external systems. The role will require strong understanding of application design and development using the Java programming language and data integration technologies. YOU SHOULD HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH BIG DATA TECHNOLOGIES - Apache HADOOP, HBase, Kafka, Hive, Spark etc.
 
As a Integration developer, you will have experience with the below mentioned:

• Develop, test and support a portfolio of components and services of an integrated timetabling and attendance IT solution for NSW public schools
• Contribute to the architectural design of the solution above
• Conduct performance tuning of the components and services above
• Support rollout of the solution above to schools
• Coordinate with other teams (middleware, Linux and QA) for BAU and development tasks
• Write and maintain documentation for technical artefacts

To be successful for the role, you will have experience with the below mentioned:

• Demonstrated development experience in big data tools such as Apache Hadoop, HBase, Hive, Sqoop, Oozie and Spark
• Oracle Java SE and Java EE certifications
• Cloudera CDH
• Stream processing tools such as Apache Samza, Spark, Storm, Flink, Flume and/or Kafka
• Groovy and Scala programming languages
• Schools Interoperability Framework (SIF)
• 8 years' development experience in Java Standard Edition (Java SE)
• 5 years' development experience in Java Enterprise Edition (Java EE) including JMS, JPA, EJB, JDBC, JSF and JBoss EAP
• Solid SOA development experience in SOAP-based Web services, RESTful Web services and business processes using WSDL, SOAP, JSON, XML, XSL, XSD, XSLT, WS-I, BPEL, BPMN and WS-Security
• Demonstrated data experience in Oracle RDBMS 12c and/or Microsoft SQL Server
• Demonstrated Java framework experience in Apache Camel, Spring Framework and Hibernate
• Demonstrated development experience in big data tools such as Apache Hadoop, HBase, Hive, Sqoop, Oozie and Spark
