About the opportunity
As an Applications Architect, you will be responsible for defining the specific technical operation of new applications, application enhancements, and the underlying technologies used. You will collaborate with other Domain Architects to fulfill Fletcher Building’s application requirements and govern over the execution of the component solution builds. You will also:
- Define application architecture solutions encompassing legacy systems, bespoke, and packaged software. Input and define strategies and plans for application rationalisation and retirement.
- Identify key business and technology drivers that impact application architectures, such as end-user requirements, existing software distribution capabilities, existing application environment (including legacy and packaged systems), and performance and availability requirements.
- Contribute to the thinking and development of long range strategies and business plans for IT, contribute to strategic IT initiatives and Fletcher Building’s overall plans and strategies.
- Support the development of business cases and project documents as they relate to application development and enhancements.
- Conduct functional and technical assessments of application architecture including functional overlap or gaps, platforms used, tool proliferation, age of underlying technologies, and end user satisfaction.
About you
This is a role that requires someone with a strong Applications Architecture experience that covers cloud solutions and has proven experience in developing roadmaps. You will need to bring your know-how on application architecture models (Batch, OLTP, OLAP, Client-Server, N-tier/Web, Standalone, and Mobile), web architectures (.NET, J2EE), and characteristics of e-commerce architectures (B2B, B2C, B2E, and P2P). We are also looking for someone with expertise in ERP, CRM, or HR Systems within a large complex environment.
