As Austal continues to grow and enjoy the success of newly awarded contracts, we require a MS SQL Developer to join our In-Service Support department in a permanent full-time position. The position will be responsible for supporting the design, development and maintenance of extensions to the code of computerised maintenance management system (CMMS/AMOS).

 

Core Duties include:

  • Accurately gather and analyse requirements to auto-update AMOS with the master configuration data.
  • Perform map and gap analysis.
  • Design/modify database structure.
  • Develop the code extensions, using MS SQL.
  • Maintenance of user accounts (complying with strict access guidelines).
  • Update of master configuration data.
  • Manual data updates.
  • Enhance system performance.

 

We are looking for someone with:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in IT or relevant work experience.
  • Recent Graduates with strong MS SQL or PL/SQL skills are encouraged to apply.
  • Preferably, some development experience using MS SQL Server (2008 and above).
  • Experience/knowledge using PowerBuilder will be looked upon favourably -training can be provided.
  • Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
  • Understanding of Software Development Project Lifecycle.
  • Good time management and organisational skills to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills – written and spoken.
  • Ability to work both autonomously without supervision and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of configuration management procedures/systems.
  • A self-learner, with inclination to learn new systems/procedures.
  • Eligible to obtain Baseline Security Clearance.
