This is a really unique and exciting opportunity that would suit a travel enthusiast! The organisation is a global market leader in their industry with over 300 employees at 10 locations across five continents. The Customer Support Engineer will have the opportunity to travel to around Australia, United Kingdom and Asia Pacific, all business expenses paid.

The Role

This exciting new opportunity is for a proven or aspiring Customer Support Engineer to join our Global Customer Support Team in Brisbane. Reporting jointly to the Lead Customer Support Engineer and the Australia based Sales Director, you’ll liaise directly with our local and APAC customers to understand and resolve a broad range of communication and set-up issues. Training will be provided.

As a natural problem solver, you’ll be required to learn and advise on mechanical, electrical and software installations and issues. You’ll be supporting the sales team in APAC, investigating problems, responding to calls and emails, and meeting customers face to face (both in Australia and overseas), ensuring no two days will ever be the same.

The Responsibilities
• You’ll provide excellent customer service and technical support to new and existing customers, with in-depth technical expertise relating to their products and services
• You’ll support the Sales Team in face to face meetings and product presentations, providing technical advice, solutions and recommendations and product demonstrations.
• You’ll utilise conventional test equipment and IT diagnostic software tools to investigate faults, bugs and other issues
• You’ll gain an in-depth knowledge of the entire mechanical, electronic and software product range
• You’ll liaise with the UK based Development Team on recurring issues and product fault trends
• You’ll contribute to developing technical manuals and online support tools
• You’ll be willing to travel within Australia, APAC and UK.

The Requirements
• Minimum undergraduate course in Electronics, Software or Mechanical or related engineering qualifications, is preferred
• Vocational course certification or extensive hands-on commercial experience, as an alternative
• Experience in a technical support role, ideally second line/customer-facing
• Experience in communications and interfacing peripherals to computer hardware
• Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written
• Proven ability to learn about new and complex products and services quickly
• Able to demonstrate analytical and creative problem solving skills
• Ability to work autonomously and an enthusiasm to learn
• Ability to produce clear, concise, technical reports
• Deliver training to individuals with varying levels of expertise
• Proven team player
• Full driving license, for use of company pool cars
