Expressions of interest are now sought from experienced Software and Systems Engineers for upcoming roles located at our Williamtown office.

This Expresion Of Interest seeks applications from  early career and mid career engineers with Software or Systems engineering skills. It's your opportunity to join our engineering capability in support of current and future defence products that protect us. You will be part of the Aerosapce business in an inclusive and friendly team at our Williamtown precinct in NSW. We are considering both permanent and fixed term employees to provide an adaptable capability.

As the Software Engineer you will be responsible for the development and unit testing of the software lifecycle:

  • Development of software using the project's software development environment
  • Delivering allocated software engineering work packages, artefacts and documentation in accordance with the project standards and processes
  • Providing support to others with regards to interfacing and reuse of developed software components
  • Undertake software level requirements analysis, functional analysis, architectural design and relevant documentation

As the ideal Software Engineer applicant you will have:

  • A Tertiary qualification in software coupled with relevant software experience
  • Experience with structured programming and object orientated programming (including C, C++, .NET, Assembler)
  • Experience in the design, development and unit testing of safety or mission critical systems
  • Knowledge of the engineering design review process and configuration management
  • Demonstrated experience with working in a software development environment and structured toolset

As the Systems Engineer you will be responsible for the complete system development lifecycle:

  • Undertake requirements analysis, functional analysis, architectural design and documentation
  • Plan, manage and execute the system integration, verification and validation
  • Perform hazard analysis and implement mitigation strategies to ensure system safety
  • Maintain the system design and documentation in accordance with configuration management, change management and traceability processes
  • Independently review peers' work, identify technical risks and unknowns and support planning activities

As the ideal Systems Engineer applicant you will have:

  • A Tertiary engineering qualification coupled with relevant experience in systems engineering
  • Experience in the design, development and verification of safety or mission critical systems
  • Experience in systems integration, particularly of electronic or software based systems
  • Knowledge of the engineering design review process and configuration management
  • Demonstrated experience with requirements and verification management within a structured toolset

Whilst not essential, systems engineering experience within a Defence or Aerospace environment will be highly regarded.

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
