The Role
We are seeking an energetic and experienced HFC RF Technician to work on Service Stream's nbn Operations and Maintenance (HFC) contract.
Based in our Adelaide office, but required to travel within the SA Region regularly, the HFC RF Technician will be responsible for the following -
- · Direct RF field service maintenance, reporting and fault work on the nbn HFC network
- · Operate test equipment as required
- · Complying with health and safety on site
- · Report to the Field Supervisor on the status of work and recommend / carry out corrective action
- · Perform all specified duties under the Service Stream Communications Management System
Required Skills and Experience
Relevant hands-on experience on the nbn HFC network is desirable
RF and/or Telecommunications experience desirable
Basic knowledge of electronics, computers, software and connectivity
2 year technical degree or equivalent work experience and proficiency in one of the following field(s):
- · CATV, RF Communications, Satellite Comms/TV, Optical Networks, DOCSIS, Telecommunication systems.
Ability to meet deadlines including being on call after hours and weekends as required
Physically fit to climb poles/ladders, lift up to 25kg, perform work in pits, and bend, stand, sit, crawl, climb and lift throughout work shift
Desire to work outside in diverse locations and weather extremes
Driving is a requirement for this position. Must possess and maintain a valid manual Driver's License and safe driving record
Excellent Communication / Time Management Skills
Outstanding customer awareness skills
Ability to work independently with innovative thinking
