Exciting permanent job opportunity in Townsville for Senior Software Engineer in Web Development & UX Design
Your new company
Based in North Queensland, you will have the opportunity to work in a forward thinking organisation and benefit from the support of a long standing team. As your team embraces the latest technologies and industry best practices, you will become a subject matter expert on the development of new web applications in an enterprise web environment.
Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Application Services, you will be responsible for migrating the organisation's existing enterprise web applications to contemporary technologies while upholding code quality and software engineering output. Key duties of your new role will include:
- Coding and end-to-end delivery of software development initiatives
- Coaching and mentoring your small team of Web Developers
- Recommending new solutions across UI, software architecture and new tech in general
- Establishing cooperative relationships department-wide to support the shift to a DevOps model
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate for this vacancy is a Developer with experience in the core areas of Web Development and 2+ years' experience in a Senior or Technical Lead role. Candidates with a passion for emerging technologies who meet the majority of the following key skill areas will be considered:
- Leadership qualities and strong people skills
- Analytical skills and problem solving abilities
- Strong web experience in React, Angular JS & Node
- UX design experience
- HTML, CSS, common Javascript libraries, unit testing & performance
- Strong Web APIs/REST/micro services design
- Strong TDD/unit testing/test automation experience
- Understanding of Agile practices and principles
- Experience with Jenkins CI/CD, Git
