Telecommunication Field Technicians
We are looking for experienced Field Technicians based in Adelaide for an initial 6 month contract but can extend. The role requires your own vehicle and tools which will be compensated for in the hourly rate.
Job tasks and responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role are to support audits, local number porting (LNP), customer service activation, least cost routing (LCR) programming, installation & decommissioning of Network Termination Units (NTUs) to support mobile upgrades as well as a suite of voice, data and IP products.
- Undertake audits prior to equipment installation.
- Install, configure and integrate network equipment.
- Perform cabling, patching and jumpering according to the design layout.
- Perform rod and roping if required
- Recover and decommission network equipment
- On-site troubleshooting, fault detection and fibre testing.
- Perform work in accordance with technical and operational specifications and standards.
- Preparation of documentation as required including as-built documents
- Maintenance of records, log books and other documents as required.
- Perform all work in compliance to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements and standards
Skills and Experience
Required Skills:
- Experience with Huawei TX & BTS equipment installation, configuration, commissioning, and integration
- Experience with Nokia BTS configuration, commissioning, and integration
- Experience with Optus, Telstra and VHA installations standards
- Experience with customer service activation including LNP, service activation and LCR programming
- Experience with Telstra Wideband equipment and installations.
- National Full Driving License, 4WD experience is bonus
- Ability to read design documents
- Ability to communicate clearly with remote support engineers
