We currently have an exciting opportunity for an individual who is seeking a new challenge and who can bring their own breadth of skill to complement our current team and clients.
 
Datacom is growing rapidly and the opportunity to work on complex projects is increasing. The National Projects group has the responsibility for delivering all engagements on time and within budget to the highest standards of professionalism.
 
This role will be rewarding in that you'll get to utilise your people skills to manage and inspire a team, as well as cultivate and nurture client relationships. You will have been exposed to waterfall and agile software delivery.
 
Purpose of the role
The role of the Senior Project Manager is to manage all aspect of the management of a customer project including but not limited to following:
  • Project Delivery
  • Project Accounting
  • Business and Quality assurance of delivery of projects
  • Mentoring & Coaching
  • Work with Sales and Presales team
The Project Manager will liaise with various groups involved with the customer, including the project delivery teams, customer representatives and third parties and ensures that all contracted services are delivered to the highest quality standard  
  
Duties and responsibilities: 
 
  • Assist in the overall management of profitability and budget accountability for the business unit
  • Assist in development of strategic direction and ensuring professional teams are in line with market and industry change
  • Effective delivery leadership skills in a matrix organisational environment
  • Ability to build support for initiatives and transformation programs
  • A proven track record in effective customer relationship building and management skills
  • Experience in managing people, sound negotiating skills and ability to develop new solutions to existing challenges 
  • Consulting advice to the customer as required, assists them in the identification of solutions for its business requirements as requested
  • Responsible for the timely and quality delivery of assigned projects 
  • Manages the creation and delivery of project reports to the customer 
  • Ensures the quality and responsiveness of the professional service delivered through the maintenance of effective working relationships across all Datacom support groups

Skills and Qualifications: 
  • Broad and deep understanding of project management within IT
  • Able to demonstrate a sound understanding and implementation of Project Management disciplines Prince2 or PMP (PMBOK), and Agile
  • Strong financial management practices with a clear understanding of the relationship between costs, utilisation and project revenue
  • Proven negotiating skills with the aptitude to ensure win/win situations for all parties 
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills 
  • Excellent customer relationship building and management skills
  • Exposure to SDLC practices and integration into software release strategies
  • Strong influencing and persuasive ability 
  • Strong business acumen 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and effective presentation skills
