A passion for customers must be at your core.

At Deloitte, we are all responsible for challenging the status quo, and bringing fresh thinking to everything we do. In this role, you’ll be joining a team that is in many respects a start-up within the Deloitte portfolio and is passionate about understanding customer needs and developing digital products to meet these needs.

About our team:

Deloitte Solutions is a new venture by Deloitte that is seeking to change the way in which professional services are experienced. Our team is passionate about understanding customer needs, developing digital products to meet those needs and / or fundamentally re-engineering traditional professional services so they are accessible to a broader market through mass market channels. Our team is responsible for working with customers, internal SMEs and a range of internal and external service providers to deliver these products from concept into reality and for supporting these product in the market.

Our core team is small and works collaboratively to draw on capabilities, knowledge and frameworks from across Deloitte and external parties to deliver on its goals - particularly during the build phase of products. Every member of our core team is passionate about customers and exploring new ways of delivering professional services to them. This team leads the effort to identify customer needs, convert these into product ideas, sharpen them to product specifications and business cases that will secure funding, stewards them through the build process to ensure the integrity of the concept and design is protected and then launches and supports them in the market.

We are currently growing our core team in Sydney and are seeking a UX/Product Design Lead as a central member of our team.

About the role:

The Product Design Manager works closely with our Digital Product Managers, Product Delivery Lead, the Operations team and internal and external build partners. During the build phase, you will work with other design peers to ensure that the integrity of the product design is maintained but will play a more of a review role.

You will be talented with visual design while also being tech savvy. You will be able to develop graphical user interfaces, graphic designs, and interaction patterns; apply colour theory and design principles to produce best aesthetics and ease of use; implement their knowledge of user-centred design methodologies to determine product strategy, design concepts, perform user acceptance tests, and feature list definition; and even develop user personas from scenarios of use and interaction models.
You work quickly and collaboratively to perform rapid prototyping for validation of design solutions and high fidelity prototyping for user/usability testing. He / she is not afraid to be “in the detail” and the “here and now” by identifying and addressing bug fixes, minor enhancements and other real time improvement to in-market products and the marketing website.

You will be passionate about the end-to-end process of product design, including research, wire-framing, prototyping, interaction design and visual design and will recognise that although part of Deloitte, we operate with a start-up mentality as much as possible. Attention to detail, pragmatism, a highly collaborative attitude and an ability to deal with ambiguity are important. In addition to other core team members, this role will work closely with current and potential customers of our business, SMEs within various parts of Deloitte and third party providers of build services.

Responsibilities:
  • Help solve complex interaction problems, humanise product ideas and develop these ideas into elegant application design
  • Work with Product Managers to grow concepts through design exploration, ideation and user validation
  • Design interaction models, wireframes and mid-fidelity mock-ups that promote ease of use and optimise how customers interact with our products
  • Analyse tasks, model information, navigation and flows using UX best practices for web and mobile
  • Present design solutions, defend design decisions and incorporate feedback into the design cycle
  • Identify and undertake minor enhancement and bug fixes for “in market” digital products
  • Identify and undertake minor enhancements for the Word Press marketing site
  • Deliver great digital experiences that help drive sales and service objectives.
  • Manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
About you:
  • Bachelor of Design or similar and a minimum of 6+ years of professional experience designing consumer or SaaS applications
  • Previous experience as a Product Designer, Visual (UI) or Interaction (UX) Designer etc.
  • Proven expertise turning complex business problems into simple and engaging products for the web
  • The ability to define visual styles for web devices, use information architecture techniques to create site maps, taxonomies, focus groups, card sorts, and search engine optimizations.
  • Capable of communicating and prototyping interactions rapidly at all levels of resolution
  • Deep knowledge of modern web UI patterns
  • Engaging presentation style and visual communication skills and great collaboration skills
  • An advanced proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Axure, Sketch, Invision, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Visio and experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum.
  • A strong portfolio that showcases your work, provides detail of your role on projects and shows examples of functional designs that you have developed from requirements through to design to delivery
