As an Application Security Specialist at Transurban you’ll ensure our business and our critical data is protected from external threats by ensuring appropriate security controls are implemented across all the business applications. This could be something we have built in-house, bought off the shelf and customised or applications hosted in cloud environments. You’ll be key to identifying vulnerabilities associate with these applications and recommending technical remediation measures.



You’ll be charged to drive application security control enforcements and offer technical advice across the Transurban business and technology stakeholders for application security vulnerability remediation and be an advocate for secure application development practices.

The impact you’ll have

• You’ll coordinate and manage security testing across Transurban and propose and implement improvements to overall processes, methodologies, and technologies used to support application security assurance capabilities
• You’ll ensure cyber security controls meet business requirements for performance and effectiveness
• You’ll be involved in designing appropriate application security controls that follow industry best practices, standards and guidelines while matching the risk appetite of the business
• You’ll ensure that applications and systems have appropriate controls that can detect suspicious activity that may indicate attacks by internal users, or external attackers who have penetrated the internal network.
• You’ll develop and maintain templates for periodic reporting of application penetration testing and vulnerability scanning results.
• You’ll provide specialist knowledge and direction on application security architecture roadmaps and capability gaps.

The talents you’ll bring

• You’ll bring with you signification prior experience in Software Security including security validation and security tools for applications, open source SW, Network, IoT, web applications, and cloud services.
• You’ll be proficiency with security validation solutions used for static code analysis, dynamic code analysis, vulnerability scanners and debuggers and have knowledge of key security technologies i.e. Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), Application Security Firewalls.
• Having experience in this area you will bring strong working knowledge of security standards, security controls, software technology and software security.
• You be used to working using an Agile product development
• Experience with frameworks such as .NET, J2EE and programming languages such as HTML5, Javascript, C, C++.The candidate should be able to do static code analysis, code review etc.
• Knowledge of Application Server technologies including Tomcat, Oracle WebLogic, WebSphere advantageous
• Experience working in an Agile product development methodology advantageous.
• Application penetration testing experience desiarable.
• Qualifications in any Computer Science or related tertiary degree, ICT security certification in Information Security (i.e. CISSP, CISA or CISM, etc) or ITIL would be great.
