Position Purpose:

The role will require you to work closely with BI Data Services, CRM, Product, Trading, and other business stakeholders.

Main tasks include:

  • Detailed business requirements gathering and analysis
  • Business process mapping and management
  • Facilitating and performing user acceptance testing
  • Full documentation

To succeed in this role, you should have an analytical way of thinking, be capable of explaining and translating technical concepts to non-technical users and be able to draw user stories.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Work with different departments to elicit, analyse and document business requirements
  • Consult with functional unit management and personnel to identify, define and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, and levels of systems access.
  • Act as a liaison between departmental end-users, technical analysts, information technology analysts, and technology developers in the analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance of systems and non-system business procedures, to ensure optimal operational performance.
  • Track and fully document changes for functional and business specifications; write detailed universally understood procedures for permanent records and for use in training.
  • Plan, organise and conduct business process reengineering/improvement projects, e.g. work on projects requiring strategic analysis of an entire process or operating area where specific issues or items need to be examined and corrected.
  • Conduct change impact analysis to assess the potential implications of changes, and document business rules, functions and requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for improving business processes.

Experience & Qualifications Required:

Essential:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication including technical writing skills
  • Strong understanding of Data Centric systems concepts including but not limited to Integration & Data Warehousing
  • The ability to conduct cost/benefit analysis
  • Business case development skills
  • Excellent Business process modelling skills
  • Strong analytical skills including eliciting business requirements and translating them into technical requirements.
  • At least 3 years solid experience in a similar role.
  • Inquisitive and insightful with a passion for analytics and data-driven decision making.
  • Enthusiasm for working as part of a team in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the bookmaking industry
  • Knowledge of the Kimball methodology
  • Knowledge of Data/ BI architecture and principles.
  • SQL Server experience
  • Experience with one or more Data visualization tools (PowerBI, Datazen, Tableau, Qlik etc)
  • Knowledge of CRM/ below the line campaigns
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud applications
  • A passion for horse racing and/or sports

Good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate to all levels within the business are essential. A willingness to learn with a pro-active personality and a good work ethic are equally vital.
