About the Role
Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager, the IT Operations Architect will play a pivotal role providing architectural and thought leadership across our IT landscape. The role has a global focus therefore requiring extensive engagement across a number of IT teams as well as business stakeholders, demonstrating the value of IT to the wider business.
Acting as the subject matter expert and trusted advisor, your key responsibilities include the following (however not limited to:
- Identify, select and implement appropriate infrastructure solutions based on business requirements and constraints
- Evaluate new technologies for alignment within our existing technology investment
- Recommend, develop and communicate plans for investing in technology systems and infrastructure
- Provide architectural governance over technology infrastructure
About You
You will have proven technical skills and a minimum 15 years experience delivering value in the infrastructure landscape. You will demonstrate a natural curiosity and eagerness to participate in the business with a positive, can-do attitude. You work well under pressure, are a strong and positive communicator, relish a challenge, are self-motivated and have a strong focus on achieving business value.
Education Required
- Information technology or Business Degree preferred
Experience / Background:
- A strong background in a similar enterprise environment, working in complex, multi-tiered, heterogeneous ICT environment
- Strong communication skills with an ability to communicate positively with people at all levels.
- An expert in at least two areas:
- Data Centre, midrange, application support, client technologies, network, security, and cloud technologies
- A good working knowledge of performance monitoring
- Ability to demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills coupled with strong communication skills
- Excellent analytical and report writing skills
- Proven experience in defining, maintaining and reusing infrastructure patterns
- A background in providing architectural oversight and support to peers in solving complex issues arising during project delivery
- Proven ability to align solutions with goals and objectives with best practice principles, policies, standards and roadmaps
- Proven ability challenging the status quo
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a regional and/or global IT team
