About our client:
Our client is one of the largest communications infrastructure companies in Victoria with the capabilities to offer turnkey installations in-house with widespread experience in the telecommunications industry, providing excellence in service to our customers with a committed workforce.
They are looking for 4 enthusiastic telecommunication trainees to join their highly successful hauling and fibre splicing teams.
Position Duties :
• Complete the requirements of the Certificate III in Telecommunications
• Assist in proving new and existing conduits and ducts, flushing and repairing any blockages found
• Assist feeding conduit with cable/rope/subduct to assist in the cable hauling on new subduct and/or fibre
• Assist as directed in the loading, mobilisation and site set up of cable winch and equipment
• Assist where and when required in the following methods of hauling:
- Rod and Rope
- Air Compressor
- Winching
- Vac Truck Operation
• Ensure all work tools are clean, tidy and in good working condition and accounted for at the end of the day
• Report site/safety incidents, hazard IDs and near misses
• Assist with completing daily pre-start checklists on all plant as required
• Assist with maintaining plant and equipment
• Report site/safety incidents, hazard IDs and near misses
• Assist with set up and mount fibre joint enclosures on all Telecommunications Carriers
• Assist with labelling of all joints and trays, including sub rack in exchange locations
• Assist with basic Joint Building, Splicing and Cable Preparation under supervision
• Ensure all work tools are clean, tidy and in good working condition and accounted for at the end of the day
