Job Title: Information Security Specialist- Privacy & Compliance
Location: Macquarie Park
Position Summary
The position will be responsible for Privacy and Compliance functions for Optus IT. Working as a security specialist, the role will:
- Lead Privacy Compliance/EU activities of group IT
- Lead Cyber Security Resilience Committee (CSRC) compliance initiatives for Group IT
- Serve as a subject matter expert in guiding different teams with in IT and Business on how to comply with the security and privacy mandates.
- Perform Security Risk Assessments (SRA) for core Optus Projects
Key Responsibilities
- Identify operational privacy risks and recommend appropriate controls and initiatives across a large number of projects.
- Contribute to the development of Optus' sustainable and repeatable privacy-by-design program, including, but not limited to the rollout of periodic training and awareness initiatives.
- Review policies and procedures relating to privacy and data protection.
- Lead EU compliance activity for Group IT with a pragmatic mindset.
- Be able to coordinate a wide number of teams to deliver the compliance outcome.
- Manage Internal and External Auditors to successfully pass the audits
- Review the security policies, procedures and standards
- Identify and communicate security non-compliances and vulnerabilities that could impact business operations
- Assess, document and communicate risks in context with business operations
Experience and Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent (or compensating experience)
- CISSP accreditation
- 7+ years of experience in Cybersecurity risk assessments, delivery of core security solutions and security compliance management
- Requires knowledge of security issues, techniques and implications across all existing computer platforms.
- Knowledge of information security principles and practices, understanding of security protocols and defence in depth.
