Our esteemed govt. client wishes to engage a highly skilled Server Engineer for a long-term contract role. There is almost 2-3 years’ worth of work in this role. Start dates can be discussed!
About the Role & Duties:
Our Client requires the services of an experienced Server Engineer to join ICT Service Delivery team. The services will include and not be limited to:
- Managing the Department’s infrastructure to meet current and future requirements including the maintenance of Windows and SQL Servers, VMware, storage, SOE, backup and restoration procedures and scripting;
- Installing, deploying and maintaining hardware, operating systems, middleware and software;
- Installing software releases, performing system upgrades, evaluating and installing patches and resolving software related problems;
- Maintaining data files and monitoring system configuration to ensure data integrity;
- Disaster recovery planning, documentation and testing;
- Comply with relevant policies and procedures and maintaining documentation for systems;
- Monitoring and reporting on system availability and utilisation.
Skills & Experience required:
- ICT infrastructure management including Windows and SQL servers, VMWare, storage, SOE, backup and restoration procedures and scripting;
- Installation, deployment and maintenance of hardware, operating systems, middleware and software;
- Monitoring system availability and utilisation;
- Disaster recovery planning and documentation;
- Producing system design documentation;
- Relevant demonstrated experience in supporting mission critical 24x7 systems -Desirable
- Knowledge and demonstrated understanding of security issues and processes around ICT systems in classified environments – Desirable.
Due to the security requirements of the position, all applicants must be Australian Citizens and hold a current NV1 above clearance.
