Role Overview

We are currently looking to fill a permanent position as an IT Helpdesk Officer at our Silverwater headquarters.

The role will be a part of a dynamic team with responsibilities across for Asia Pacific and the Middle East, providing support to the regional business. 

To be successful within this role the candidate will need to be customer focussed, be a team player, have positive attitude and a willingness to learn new technologies.

Skills and experience required are as follows:

Responsibilities include:

  • Answer, log, resolve first line helpdesk calls for Asia Pacific & Middle East (telephone, email, etc)

  • Day to day interaction with the IT Operations group, work with various parts of the infrastructure systems and the wiliness to acquire new skills.

  • Ability to analyse and resolve technical issues.

  • Ensure adherence to all IT operating policies and procedures; highlight any deficiencies; recommend improvements; report any breaches.

  • Maintaining the effective operation of CAE's IT systems and external client systems, including attention to user accounts, relevant documentation.

  • Deployment of new workstations, on boarding, setup and provide IT Training for CAE Employees.

  • Monitoring & maintenance of onsite infrastructure such as backups, server room equipment.

  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of new and existing hardware, systems, applications environments and tools; facilitate the continuing review of present and future CAE systems and methods.

  • Liaise with external consultants, vendors and agents for maintenance, support of IT equipment and software.

  • Understanding of ITIL V3

  • Experience with ticketing systems SYSAID/Remedy.

  • Outstanding Customer Service skills.

  • Excellent communication skills verbal, written and documentation skills.

Technical skills /Experience

  • Intermediate experience of Microsoft Stack.

  • Active Directory Services – User administration, Creation, modifications, group permission’s, group policy,

  • MS Exchange 2013 – mailbox administration, Creation, permission’s, management

  • Operating Systems – Windows 7/10

  • MS office Suite 2013/2016 suite

  • Cisco IP Telephony – user Administration, Create new users, new extensions and MAC’s

  • SCCM - imaging and managing application/installations

  • VPN Technologies Cisco Anyconnect

  • Basic Network knowledge TCP/IP LAN, WLAN, WAN, Cisco Networking environment

  • Hardware trouble shooting, HP Desktops /laptops, Skype & Cisco Telephony, AV Equipment.

 Note: As the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance, and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
