About the role:

As a member of the Desktop team you will providing 2nd and 3rd level desktop support and where necessary general ITC support within Thales whilst also assisting with projects and work requests as may be required.


Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain operation of desktop infrastructure, ensuring maintenance and supportability
  • Maintain and support desktop computing environment and other ICT infrastructure at the NSW sites in liaison with relevant teams, including data centre and associated environmental systems support, local area network infrastructure, PABX/Telephony
  • Manage, prioritize, and resolve assigned 2nd/3rd level incidents and requests according to SLAs and in accordance with ES processes
  • Supporting and where necessary troubleshooting a range of technology and communication issues: investigating, diagnosing faults, and working through to resolution
  • General troubleshooting of the Thales desktop and associated computing environment based on incidents and service requests logged via the Service Desk or raised by other mechanisms
  • Support the set-up of new offices, sites or projects across the local region (to include local travel) as may be required

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in IT or related discipline
  • Impeccable communication and customer service skills along with a strong work ethic and a high attention to detail
  • Experience troubleshooting desktop hardware and software in a windows environment
  • Knowledge of ITIL and formal industry certifications would be highly advantageous


Special requirements:

You must be able to obtain an Defence Security Clearance and access information covered by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
