As part of RACQ’s newly created Innovation team, this role will experiment and roll out proofs of concepts quickly by participating in idea generation, validation and execution sessions to prove the validity of the idea being tested

About the Role

The role is focused on reaching outcomes and delivery of working software.  Working alongside other tech gurus, it will collaborate on the various layers of the infrastructure on a day to day basis.

Duties

• Work as an integral participant in idea generation, execution and validation sessions to validate ideas generated by the Business
• Develop conceptual solutions and working prototypes for testing of ideas
• Collaborate with innovation team to design working software solutions to support proof of concept processes
• Develop web application and other technical solutions for pilots to validate technical feasibility
• Identify benefits of ideas and solutions assessing viability of innovative concepts
• Develop and delivery of idea proof of concept feasibility
• Ensure cost effective strategies are maintained in business operations

Skills & Experience

• Tertiary qualification in computer science, software engineering of related discipline or relative experience
• Experience in computer programming, application design and development
• Demonstrated experience in design and overall architecture of the web application
• Knowledge of UX design
• Ability collaboratively to design and launch proofs of concepts nd new features
• Ability to maintain code integrity and organisation
• Demonstrated understanding of security and data protections
• Experience with back-end programming languages, eg. Node.js, Ruby Rails or similar
• Previous experience using JavaScript libraries and frameworks
• Development experience both mobile and web, ie HTML, CSS, JS
