Information Management Network Engineer

About the Team
An opportunity has arisen to join our Information Management team based in Brisbane. The IM Network Engineer is responsible for implementing, maintaining, supporting, developing and designing network and telecommunications within Airbus Australia Pacific in a secure, highly available and supportable manner.
The IM Network Engineer reports to the Manager IM Operations and ensures that systems are monitored, audited and configured so that all network devices perform in an optimal manner.
About the Role
As the Information Management Network Engineer you can anticipate some of your day-to-day activities to include:
- Trouble-shoot network problems and outages, schedule upgrades and network performance continuous improvement and optimisation.
- Responsible for IP Telephony, CISCO UC and network faults escalations and Take an active part in all ICT Change Management with testing, communication and commissioning processes to ensure integrity of systems.
- Participate in ICT projects and rollouts including major network systems upgrades such as VOIP and video conferencing systems
- Create operational procedures and operational documentation when needed or at completion of Network and Security projects,
- Coordinate and/or execute security patching/IOS updates as needed.
About you
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- A tertiary qualification in a related Information Technology field
- At least 3 years experience in managing LAN and WAN using CISCO routing/switching equipment.
- Relevant industry certification have a demonstrated understanding of Checkpoint Firewalls/Palp Firewalls/ VMWARE/ Bluecoast ProxySG as well as unified communications.
- It is essential for the successful candidate be able to welcome problems and recommend solutions as well as have strong communication and relationships building skills.
