The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer, who will be part of the voice and network engineering Team. This role will report to Platform Manager - Voice & Networks, and work on the projects and critical stakeholders for the relevant platforms.
As part of this role, the incumbent will be required to participate in an after-hours and on-call roster.
You will be responsible for:
- Understand and translate high-level design concept into implementation, including Layer 2 - Layer 3 routing configuration.
- Plan, Execute and test new IP network infrastructure deployment
- Facilitate production service migration
- Responsible for analyzing workflow, access, information, security requirements; designing Network Architecture including interface configuration and routing protocols
- Evaluate network performance issues including availability, utilisation, throughput, goodput, and latency
- Establish IP network connections
- Monitor the health and integrity of the network
- Identify network events, faults and initiation of repair and rectification process
- Diagnose of fault type, impact on network and customer services
- Internal, external and governance reporting of network performance and issues as necessary
- Maintain risk registers, escalations and action plans by SLAs.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate::
- Providing a high level of technical advice and expertise to support, identify and provide technical solutions and to maintain architectural integrity
- 7+ years minimum industry experienced in network/infrastructure deployment in Telecommunication infrastructure
- You will provide 2nd and 3rd level Operational Support for the incident and problem management, IT service continuity analysis, capacity/ availability planning and supportability awareness, in addition to liaison with the customer any vendors.
- Should have good experience with L2 and L3 Networking protocol, i.e. BGP / OSPF / VXLAN /MPLS, VRRP
- Extensive on-site deployment experience
- Experience with Cisco 9K router, Arista Ethernet switches hands-on configuration and SPINE LEAF design in data centre network
- Strong understanding and extensive experience of firewalling product, especially FortiGate
- Strong knowledge of modern data centre network, BGP, MPLS, and extensive experience of deploying SPINE/LEAF
- Experienced in designing Data Network architecture and excellent troubleshooting skills in IP routing and firewalling
- Should be deep subject matter experts working independently
- Should have an Australian Drivers license
- Should be open to Interstate travel
