Primary purpose of the role
The Senior Applications Consultant will operate, maintain and support information management and population health reporting systems.
They will also provide advice on data management, electronic data transfer, data storage, communications, access permissions, security, IT infrastructure issues.
Key accountabilities
- Perform application administration for core population health systems, monitoring access permissions and security, data upload and data management.
- Lead the ongoing system enhancement and implementation of changes for the information management and surveillance systems
- Provide stakeholders with advice, support and service.
- Manage a change control system for infrastructure, databases, software documentation and systems maintenance.
- Develop, and provide ongoing training to staff in the use of core information management systems.
- Operate, maintain and support several complex and critical information systems for surveillance, analysis, collaboration, mapping and reporting.
- Manage several core systems concurrently in a high-pressure, high-volume work environment.
- Work with a range of information and operating systems, while working towards a standardised application environment.
Selection Criteria
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the design, maintenance, management and development of complex information management surveillance systems and data warehouses.
Any experience with Health, Obesity issues will be highly regarded.
Experience in:
- Preparation of clear project proposals and defining goals in measurable terms
- Defining monitoring, reporting and communication requirements
- Preparing accurate estimates of costs and resources required for complex projects
- Monitoring the completion of project milestones against goals
