The Team

The Information and Analytics Centre of Excellence (CoE) provides business and technology domain expertise in several technical solutions that support and enable effective information management and business analytics.

The Opportunity

Working in the Information and Analytics Centre of Excellence, you will be the responsible for developing and enhancing data sources and information on the IM platform for the Energy business. 

This is a great opportunity to learn about the new electricity position reporting framework and be part of the ETRM project as they continue to develop new content across the gas and green commodities, which you will then take primary responsibility for further enhancement post-project.  You will also take the lead in building out other key data sources for Energy including customer meter data and contract data to support our C&I business. 

Responsibilities

You will bridge the gap between business requirements and technical development, working closely with members of the Energy business to understand requirements and develop code for new business operations and metrics, and quickly understand, triage and resolve any defects in datasets key to the Energy business.

Other responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Identification, analysis and acquisition of all relevant source data from operational systems required to support Energy requirements.
  • Development of logical and physical data models
  • Supporting business information needs by development of the core foundational outputs .
  • Conduct ETL architecture design reviews and ensure appropriate standards are followed.
  • Ensure data is kept up to date and data quality is of the highest standard, also ensuring the appropriate security roles are set up.
  • Monitor performance of load plans and ODI jobs and propose changes to improve load times and efficiency
  • Perform unit testing and facilitate User Acceptance Testing.
  • Communicate with senior stakeholders across the business.

What we are looking for:

To be successful in securing this role, we are seeking:

  • Advanced technical skills in ETL framework, Stored Procedure and dimensional modelling.
  • Advanced skills in SSRS, Tableau, Oracle R or other reporting tools.
  • Experience working with Oracle Data Warehouse Platform.
  • Proven experience using Oracle Data Integrator or similar ETL tool.
  • Experience working within energy trading or risk management highly desirable.
  • Understanding of electricity, gas and renewable wholesale market data (AEMO data, gas market data) highly desirable.
  • Understanding of electricity meter data structure and conventions highly desirable.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Oracle and SQL certification desirable.
