Randstad has a crucial requirement to acquire the services of an SQL Database developer/Systems Admin to be responsible for providing technical expertise and support in the design, development, administration, maintenance and deployment of the client’s own ancillary Tolling information systems, databases and any web-enabled services to facilitate optimal access to and use of data and resources.

Responsibilities:

• Developing, supporting and maintaining data systems; designing, implementing, tuning and troubleshooting database solutions; with Tolling Support, operating systems and software upgrades, migrations and support of purchased software solutions
• Web services application development and configuration; database administration and maintenance, documentation, and user support
• Ensure ancillary Tolling information systems availability by conducting daily functional checks, recording performance statistics, carrying out health checks, diagnosing and resolving system faults using a variety of current methods.
• Creating and developing processes and procedures for the maintenance of ancillary Tolling information system databases and web services, if any, utilising commercial software packages and developed applications. The position develops documentation for the ancillary Tolling information systems including the preparation of data dictionaries and procedure manuals for the developed applications and databases of the Branch.
• Contribute to the accuracy of data by continuously monitoring data integrity and resolving discrepancies quickly
• Deliver excellent customer service by responding to requests from management, project managers and peers for assistance, reports and information.
• From time to time, undertakes project work; including the production of web mapping applications and the day to day update of Tolling information systems within the database and related web applications.

You will have:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in computing/programming and demonstrated experience in database administration within an IT environment
• Proven development experience using Waterfall, Agile and/or Rational Unified Process based software development lifecycles
• Development experience in SQL Database and any other relational management system, Windows Server, Visual Studio, SQL Query, SSRS and SSIS.
• Proven high level analytical and technical problem solving skills demonstrated by a track record of developing innovative IT solutions to improve business efficiency
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and experience in developing and maintaining technical documentation, standards and procedures using standard MS Office applications
• Ability to ascertain user needs and tailor system, database and management solutions
• Skills in project planning and management with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Research, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions to meet technical and user requirements.
• MYOB EXO experience is a bonus (but not essential)
