Partnering with this leading Queensland Government Department I am looking for an experienced Principal Project Manager to implement an aggregated data network solution, shared across agencies, to deliver a reliable and faster network to regional communities. This is an initial 7-month contract + extensions based in the CBD.
As Principal Project Manager, within the QGRN Project you will project manage the implementation and delivery of project/s ensuring objectives are met, including initiation and project resources through to client acceptance, whilst always maintaining a customer/stakeholder focus. You will also undertake a leadership role to drive the project management governance and process methodology and provide leadership and coaching to project staff.
About the Role
- Initiate new projects and deliver high level communication and documentation to project sponsors and other key stakeholders ensuring they are briefed on projects objectives, milestones and progress;
- Scope, plan and manage the delivery of high-profile ICT or business change project/s;
- Recommend and establish project governance arrangements;
- Monitor, manage and control project activities in accordance with agreed plans, including;
- management of financial costs, risks and issues, and ensure that appropriate corrective actions are taken to deliver the project on time and to budget;
- Ensure the project aligns with the Costing, Pricing and Billing Program’s strategic objectives and current best practice;
- Advise the Project Board of any deviations from the plan that may exceed tolerances and provide recommendations on actions to deal with these;
- Manage stakeholder relationships including communicating, negotiating and influencing various stakeholders to meet project objectives and deadlines; and
- Maintain own professional development whilst contributing to a learning culture with the aim of achieving best practice project delivery through enhancing the capabilities of other project staff.
About You
- Have successfully led complex ICT network connectivity or infrastructure projects through to completion;
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively lead a diverse project team;
- Influence and negotiate with stakeholders and other teams to achieve results;
- Work collaboratively and effectively with the project team and stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met;
- Act as a coach and facilitate staff development;
- Effectively communicate project requirements and outcomes, both in writing and verbally; and
- Certification in PRINCE2, Agile and/or other project management methodologies will be highly regarded.
