The role of System Administrator is to administer, build and support Information Technology Infrastructure for Central Coast Council, and to collaborate with others to complete the programs and projects of the section.  This will be achieved under the leadership of the Senior System Administrator and working with the wider operations team.

Key activities of this role include:

  • Deploy, Administer and maintain information technology core infrastructure;
  • Resolution of information technology incidents arising from BAU and project related issues;
  • Contribute to Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans for IM&T.

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree qualification in Computer Science / Information Technology or related field OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role ,combined with ongoing professional development;
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence;
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of Microsoft cloud technologies including Azure AD and Single Sign on, Azure MFA, conditional access, SaaS application integration, Microsoft Intune, Office 365 Exchange Online, Skype for Business, SharePoint Online;
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting and understanding of core infrastructure services and concepts; DNS, Active Directory, Networking, Firewalls, Load balancing, IIS, Windows clustering, SQL Infrastructure, Windows Server Operating systems, Linux Operating systems, hypervisor (Hyper-V, VMware), SAN (NetApp, HP 3PAR), Backup concepts and solutions (Commvault), hosted application solutions (Citrix/RDS), PowerShell Scripting, PKI, IIS;
  • Demonstrated experience inputting into infrastructure solution designs;
  • Demonstrated team player behaviours, including pro-active communication with the team in regard to identifying operational issues, problem solving and risk identification strategy;
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, credible relationships and influence, persuade or negotiate outcomes that are of benefit or add value, to all or part of the organization.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Current ITIL Certification (V3 or newer);
  • MCSE – Cloud Platform/Infrastructure or equivalent.

This role provides a salary range of $1,405.25 to $1,686.65 per week ($73,269 to $87,941 per annum) + Superannuation.
