Squiz Sydney is now searching for a Systems Administrator to join our CBD office, conveniently located between Town Hall and Darling Harbour, in an inspiring converted wool storage facility.
This is an opportunity for a passionate and highly tech-savvy Systems Administrator looking to take the next step, who will be responsible for providing enterprise-level systems architecture and integration support, develop systems risk mitigation strategies and support technical discoveries to guide internal & external stakeholders throughout the life cycle of projects.
Day to day:
- Deploy and configure application stack components as per requirements, standards and best practices.
- Perform Root Cause Analyses of issues, compile incident reports.
- Interpret functional specifications and assist technical solutions discovery.
- Write/maintain automatic deployment and/or configuration scripts.
- Support the team with technical responses to RFQ/RFPs.
- Advice on performance and caching strategies.
- Write and maintain client environment and/or application documentation.
Your profile:
- Several years of Linux experience (proficiency with Red Hat, CentOS or Scientific Linux)
- Strong understanding of networking technologies, applications and protocols (including DNS, TCP/IP, routing, firewalling, HTTP/S, SSL)
- Strong understanding of web technologies including JavaScript, HTML/CSS, REST/SOAP, XML/XSL, ESI
- Good scripting skills in at least one of the following: PHP, bash, Python, Perl, Java
- Database experience including (PostgreSQL and/or MySQL)
- Configuration management experience with Puppet and Ansible is a plus
- Experience administering web servers based on Nginx or Apache
- Experience with Fast CGI (PHP-FPM) and reverse proxies (Squid/Varnish) is a plus
- Experience with enterprise size deployments in AWS or Google Cloud is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Hold a current or be eligible for a government security clearance is a plus (not essential).
