This role is responsible for an indirect team and therefore strong leadership qualities are important to drive a happy team whilst concurrently demonstrating behaviour that engenders and promotes Values and Leadership capabilities.
Governance and methodology are key outputs of this role and it is critical that attention to detail, Status Reporting and associated management of risks, issues and dependences are maintained.
The Senior Project Manager role is a key contributor to the financial forecasting for IT to roll up into overall Forecasting for Australia and the US budget cycles.
The Senior Project Manager should be prepared to think and act expeditiously and be flexible with changing and conflicting priorities whilst focused on original scope without budget/cost being compromised.
To be considered for this contract role, you will require the following:
Education / Qualifications:
- Industry certification such as PMI, Prince2, Reg PM (Australian Institute of Project Management) or PMBOK.
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or an equivalent discipline is required or relevant experience.
Experience and knowledge:
- Proven experience in management of IT projects aligned to size and complexity of project that Project Manager is being assigned.
- Experience in Project Management Methodology and Governance.
- Appreciation of a Project Gating Process and or Steering Committee or Board reporting.
- Sound understanding of business requirements and technical limitations as determined by the organisation
- Knowledge and proven understanding of the testing process and user acceptance.
- Financial experience to drive ability to forecast and manage project budgets throughout lifecycle.
- A sound understanding of Organisational Change Management principles
- A sound understanding of Issue and Risk Management
- Strong skills with Microsoft Office tools. In particular, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project.
- Proven track record in successful implementation of technology involving process change, on time, on budget
- Current knowledge and experience with business applications (ERP systems, SAP advantageous) and PC based software and technologies
- Experience in FMCG environment preferable
- Industry specific knowledge in the areas of Food Manufacturing is desirable
- A good understanding of IT architectural concepts and the ability to communicate to senior stakeholders.
