The Role:
FinXL is looking to engage a Node Operator Network Engineer to perform a variety of second and third level engineering activities related to CIS networks and activities not directly covered under the Network Operations support. Specifically this will include support to the, A2/D2 networks.
Key Role responsibilities:
- Undertake network engineering support of tactical interfaces, deployed networks and CIS related activities including but not limited to major and minor projects, operations and exercises
- Provide network designs deployment to supplement Communication Instructions. This will include the provision of router configurations and network diagrams
- Provide Level 3 technical support to exercises and operations for role specific technologies and systems.
To be successful in this role:
- Extensive experience in the field of Wide Area Networks at Level 3
- Qualifications or practical experience with core CISCO based networking technologies at CCNP level
- Exposure to experience working with commensurate networks
- Experience with or an understanding of network integration at the tactical and operational levels within the including interfaces to strategic network boundaries
- Experience in the provision and management of network support services within similar scaled organisations
- Information technology Information Library (ITIL) Foundation or practitioner study of ITIL methodology
- Experience with VoIP system configuration including cisco and JABBA
- Experience with Linux based Network Monitoring Systems
- Experience or understanding of Defence Tactical Communications environment
- Experience or understanding of Defence Communications Tactical Interface environment
- Experience or understanding of Defence Strategic network architecture
