The Application Development Tools and API’s team play a large role in building Suncorp’s API capability and strategy, building, maintaining and supporting a resilient and scalable API Gateway platform for developers.
As a Software Engineer your purpose is to apply your knowledge and experience of full stack development, scalable architecture, and DevOps practices and theories, applying current best practices and industry standards to develop the team and the platform.
You will be responsible for:
- CICD and Automation – Develop and maintain the application deployment and infrastructure as code, automating functional/ behavioural test cases for our API platform.
- API Customer Consultancy – assist our customers to follow the group standards and practices with API design, integration, security & best practice.
- Design and Strategy – Proactively identify and create proposals for technology improvements and contribute to the design and implantation of technology strategies.
- Platform maintenance & Support – contribute to the development, testing and maintenance of the platform, including DR and BCP documentation, and ensure compliance to corporate governance standards.
Key Capabilities
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology;
- Operating critical platforms and applications in the cloud
- CI/CD
- Experience working in Agile environment
- Experience working with cloud based services (including SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and good understanding of security challenges involved in deploying to the Cloud
- Understanding of CICD and DevOps best practices and theories
