Looking to work in Australia’s premium Satellite facility? There has never been a better time to join our Optus Satellite team. We support the varied range of broadcasting services in Australia and we are now looking for a Network Engineer to join our team in Belrose.
The role (24x7 Shift)
As Optus continues to push “beyond telco”, our attention on technology and customer focus has sharpened. We are seeking a Network Engineer to be part of a highly skilled and specialist team of individuals who run the Satellite operations across Australia. You will have a chance to collaborate with Senior stakeholders across the business on high priority projects at the frontier of Satellite technology.
As a Network Engineer at the Optus Satellite Customer team, you will:
- Monitor and operate all state of the art end to end components of Optus’ Satellite network
- Help with various components of International Satellite services
- Develop close relationships with customers such as Foxtel, SBS, ABC and more
- Control, monitor and configure key systems, managing fault management and other key high level technical services

About you
You are a self-starter with a curious mind and collaborative attitude - unconventional backgrounds welcome.
Other preferred skills and experience include:
- Due to client requirements, you must be an Australian Citizen to function in this role
- Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant Engineering or Computer Science background
- Relevant experience in Broadcasting services and technologies
- Relevant experience or sound knowledge of Satellite technology and services
- Proven background in similar position or duties utilities similar principles and technologies
- Great communication skills, ability to manage phone enquiries in a highly professional manner
- Must have a good attitude towards learning new things, and have a success and ‘can do’ driven attitude
- Ability to work in an autonomous environment. Sometimes you will be required to make decisions on your own and be comfortable with working independently
