About the Company
CEA is a private Australian company specialising in the design, development, manufacture and through life support of radar, missile illumination and communications technologies. We work in partnership with Defence industry and Government to provide cost-effective solutions and in service support capabilities.
About the Position - User Experience Designer
As the User Experience Designer, you will be responsible for contributing to the Business Software Development Team's objectives through creating and maintaining a coherent user interface design for CEA's internal custom software assets.
Main activities:
- Working to determine the requirements and issues of staff interaction with custom developed systems
- Gathering insights into user needs via observation, interviews, or other appropriate means
- Creating designs and design elements for the web
- Providing advice to implementers and management based on user research and proven industry methodologies
The Person
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- 5+ years of UX experience in the private or public sector. Defence experience is highly desired
- A proven ability to design for a technical audience, design for the web and deliver outputs in an iterative fashion
- A passion for user experience and workflow optimisation
- Strong abilities in analysis and critical thinking
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with a technical and non-technical audience
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to participate within and contribute to a small team environment
This role requires an Australian Government security clearance and the successful candidate MUST be eligible to obtain one.
